Luc Pélaquié's Tavel vines are in the scrub hills so typical of Mediterranean France, filled with the odor of aromatics herbs, on a soil composed of limestone scrag and red clay.
On this arid rocky soil, Luc Pélaquié has chosen to cultivate two varieties of vines, grenache and cinsault.
Grenache is the variety that forms the basis of the southern Cotes du Rhone wines, offerings its full-bodied structure, its suppleness to which the Cinsault variety adds its elegant fruity aromas. The dryness of the soil, the heat of the climate amplify the qualities of these varieties and bring to the Tavel rosé wines produced in these vineyards a pale pink color with glints of salmon, that goes perfectly with the hints of spring red fruits in the taste.
